La Digue Island Boat & Bike Tour

La Digue Island is the focus of traditional slow paced creole-living way of life, first inhabited in 1798. With a map in hand start, your cycling adventure by rummaging through the narrow roads that wind their way around the island. The plateau area has a combination of residential dwellings and guest houses with few hotels. The ‘Veuve Reserve’ is a sanctuary named after the endemic birds which inhabit the area.

A visit to the timeless L’Union Estate is an absolute must, where the old agricultural processing method is preserved, such as the traditional copra mill, built to extract virgin coconut oil following the laborious de-husking of the coconut and extraction of the flesh from the shell. A quick stop by the Art gallery in the basement of the iconic Grann Kaz, a historical 19th century French Colonial Plantation House where the famous movie from 1977, ‘Goodbye Emmanuel’ was filmed.

Meet the giant tortoise before passing through the vanilla plantation on your way to Anse Source D’Argent. If you haven’t done so yet, it’s time to pull out your camera for some incredible pictures of Anse Source D’Argent reputed for its picturesque boulders molding into crystal clear waters and powder like sandy beach.

16:30 Boat departs to Mahe Island
