Day 1
Arrive Labuan Bajo (no meal)
Upon arrival at Labuan Bajo on the island of Flores you will be welcomed by our local representative and transferred to the hotel for overnight.
Day 2
Rinca / Pink Beach / Komodo Island (B/L)
Our purpose today is to see the Komodo Dragon. This largest living lizard on earth lives on 3 islands, Rinca, Pada & Komodo and some parts of West Flores. Its length can go up to 3 meters with weight of up to about 198 pounds.
Early morning wake up call. Breakfast at hotel and the transfer to the harbor. At 6:00am you will depart for Komodo Island. This trip over blue tropical waters and past hundreds of small islands will take approximately 4 hours. On our visit to Komodo Islands we make a walk (1 hour) with a local ranger in search of the Komodo Dragons. During your visit you will also see wild buffalo, deer, pigs and various species of tropical birds like the Cockatoo. At Pink Beach lunch and time to discover the splendid underwater world of these rich waters (snorkels and fins are provided.) Onwards to Rinca where you will be led by a local ranger with 1 hour of soft trekking through forest and savanna. Komodo Dragons are often spotted on the way. From the highest point on this hike a beautiful panorama of the surrounding island is enjoyed. Return to Labuan Bajo which will take around 11/2 hours. Upon arrival at the harbor you will be transferred to your hotel in Labuan Bajo for overnight.
Day 3
Labuan Bajo / Ruteng (B)
Morning to Ruteng. En route visit the Mirror Cave and spiderweb ricefields at Cacar. In the afternoon visit the old centre Ruteng Puu and Liang Bua: The cave where recently the bones of the short Homo Floriensis (the hobbit) have been excavated by scientists.
Day 4
Ruteng / Bajawa (B/L)
In the morning depart for Bajawa. On the way visit Lake Rana Mese. In the afternoon visit to the traditional village of Bena. Besides still in tact, with the megalith stones besides the old houses, this village has beautiful location with views of Mount Inerie.
Day 5
Bajawa / Moni (B)
Depart for Moni. Near Bajawa visit the traditional village of Wogo. Along the way experience beautiful views of the Ebulobo volcano at Pengga Jawa. The beach is filled with green stones. And at Ende visit Soekarno’s House. Continue through beautiful landscape to Moni.
Day 6
Moni / Mt Kelimutu / Moni (B)
Early morning wake up call for departure to the Kelimutu volcano. A short walk (30 minutes) will take you to the look out point to wait for the sunrise. Kelimutu means Mountain of the Spirits. Known for its famous three color lakes: Turquoise, Brown and Black. It’s the dissolved minerals that give the different colors. Enjoy breakfast after return to the hotel. En route to Maumere stop at At Paga Beach for a moment to relax and if you like you can swim here. Sikka is known for its old church from 1899 and Ikat which is enthusiastically sold by the local people. Also visit Ledalero Museum. In this small museum you will see a collection of woven Ikats and precious stones. Wuring in Maumere is a Fishing Village on stilts.
Day 7
Depart Moni (B)
Depending on your departure flight you still might have time at the resort for leisure. Please be prepared to be ready of your transfer to the airport 3 hours prior to departure. Your tour guide will await you in the lobby of your hotel and will bid you farewell from the airport before you depart to your final destination.
