Day 3
Lake Manyara National Park / Lake Eyasi

Depart for Lake Eyasi and enjoy a picnic lunch en route.

Barely known by many tourists, this wild and nearly unexplored landscape will impress you. Lake Eyasi is a mildly alkaline lake stretching for about 31 miles to the southwest. To the northeast, as far as your eyes can see, the horizon is dominated by the impressive Crater Highlands and to the north are the plains of the Serengeti. Small groups of Bushmen, the Hadza and Watindiga, inhabit this area. They live in groups hunting with bows and arrows and gathering roots, tubers and wild fruits much as humankind lived in the Stone Age.

This afternoon visit the Hadzabe, a minority tribe which has preserved its age old customs and traditions.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 4
Lake Eyasi / Serengeti National Park

Proceed north towards the Serengeti, the largest national park in Tanzania and one of the most spectacular parks in the world. It covers some 5,700 square miles including large plains, short grass plains, kopjes, and lakes. The name Serengeti is derived from the Maasai language meaning “endless plain”. Every year, more than 1 million wildebeest travel in long caravans across the plains of the mighty Serengeti, all in search of better feeding grounds, followed by a large variety of other animals. Other common species found here include hippo, giraffe, eland, impala, baboons, monkeys and a profusion of almost 500 bird species.

You will enjoy a game drive en route to your lodge and again this afternoon.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Enroute, visit the Olduvai Gorge. Commonly known as the ‘Cradle of Mankind’, it is one of the most important prehistoric sites in the world and has been instrumental in furthering the understanding of early human evolution.

Continue to Ngorongoro, one of the wonders of the world. It is difficult to give a fair description to the enormity and beauty of the Crater. There is no comparison, if only the Garden of Eden! A steep wall of thick forest surrounds the circumference, which looks like a natural amphitheater 162 square miles in size. An incredible ecosystem consisting of grasslands, swamps, lakes, rivers, woodlands, forests and an arid area of shifting dunes exists here, and thus the crater is able to sustain a vast resident population of game including elephant, buffalo, lion, hippo, wildebeest, gazelle, leopard, black rhino, monkeys & hyena.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 8
Ngorongoro Conservation Area

This morning descend into the crater for a half day game drive. A picnic lunch will be provided.

Day 9
Ngorongoro Conservation Area / Tarangire National Park

Today you head to Tarangire National Park, a beautiful and unspoilt landscape, with wide views of distant formations of volcanic mountain ranges. The area consists of dense bushes along with tall grasses and huge old baobab trees in contrast to the green forests of Lake Manyara National Park. The land is hilly and dominated by the impressive valley of the Tarangire River, which attracts a good number of migrant animals during the dry months.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch , Dinner.
