The Garden Route

The Garden Route is a popular self-drive scenic stretch of the southern coast of South Africa. Day 1
Arrive Cape Town

Upon arrival in to Cape Town, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2
Cape Town (B)

This morning enjoy a half day tour of Cape Town, South Africa’s ‘Mother City’, including a trip to Table Mountain for spectacular views. The afternoon is at leisure.

Day 3
Cape Town / Stellenbosch (B)

After breakfast and a short briefing, leave Cape Town and travel a short distance to Stellenbosch. On the way, stop at a wine farm to sample some regional wine.

You can visit the Cheetah Breeding project to admire these beautiful animals. Enjoy hiking and jogging through the vinyards and pristine mountain fynboss and cellar tours with wine tastings at the Eikendal winery.

Day 4
Stellenbosch / Robertson (B)

Drive in to the quaint town of Robertson which is one of the most highly desirable wine tourism experiences, with a wide diversity of activities and experiences, as well as well-attended annual festivals. This picturesque wine route is a visual feast with its landscape of roads fringed by a kaleidoscopic array of flowers, trees and vineyards. Through the Valley, winds the source of life – the Breede River – sustaining it all.

Day 5
Robertson / Oudtshoorn (B)

Travel to Oudtshoorn. The Cango Caves are half an hour from the Guest House. They are one of the world’s great natural wonders, sculptured by nature through the ages.
You can also visit the Mooiplaas Ostrich Farm. The tour takes about 1 – 1.5 hours.

Day 6
Oudtshoorn / Knysna (B)

Return to the coast via some lovely country roads to Knysna. Day trips to Plettenbert Bay can be booked at the Lodge. Canoeing, hiking and the lagoon cruise are options to look at.

Day 7
Knysna (B)

Whale Watching and Tree Top Canopy Tours to Fly Fishing in the picturesque Outeniqua Mountains can also be booked at the Lodge.

Day 8
Kysna / Kenton-on-Sea (B/L/D)

Travel to Kenton-on-Sea. Keep your binoculars, cameras and video recorders to capture the stunning close-up sightings of lion, elephant and other wild game as well as dramatic African vistas. You may want to go out on the exciting night drives to view nocturnal wildlife activity, so bring warm clothes (particularly in the colder months from May to September).

Day 9
Kenton-on-Sea (B/L/D)

Free to enjoy activities at the Lodge.

Day 10
Kenton-on-Sea / Departure (B)

This morning you will be transferred to Port Elizabeth airport for your departure flight.
