Persian scholar, food connoisseur and historian, Salma loves to take gastronomic journeys into the royal kitchens of Mughal emperors, who took the culinary art to its zenith, as well as dig out exotic recipes from the royal kitchens of the Nawabs and Rajas of India. Her culinary explorations have taken her across the globe to Persia, Turkey, Central Asia, and Afghanistan to dig into the nuances and influences of these regions on North Indian cuisine. Along the way, she researched on the fascinating history and journey of “kebabs”.

Salma is the author of award-winning “The Emperors Table – The Art of Mughal Cuisine”. With her knowledge and experience, and plethora of charming and fun anecdotes, she makes for the perfect companion on a tour of India through the delights and developments of its range of cuisines.
