Day 1
Luang Prabang – Arrival (-/-/D)

Arrive at Luang Prabang by XX at XXXX a charming UNESCO world heritage city.
Your local guide will welcome you at Luang Prabang International airport.

Private transfer to your hotel, where a welcome drink will be served. Check in and refresh in your room.

If time permits, orientation tour of the town by electric tuk-tuk.

Day 2
Prabang – Pak Ou Caves – Luang Prabang (B/L/D)

Breakfast at your hotel
This morning embark at the local pier of Luang Prabang on a traditional boat and cruise upstream on the Mekong River to visit the sacred Buddha caves. On the way stop at Thin Hong a picturesque village to get a glimpse of daily life. Visit Tham Ting and Tham Phoum caves in which you find hundreds of Buddha statues.

Lunch on board

Return to Luang Prabang by boat. On the way back stop at Ban Xang Khong, handmade paper village. Drop in the old city for a walk or shop at a Hmong market.

Dinner at Elephant restaurant.

Day 3
Luang Prabang – City Tour – Vientiane (B/L/D)

Early morning, when the sunrise, participate to Tagbat ceremony, the monks’ alms offering. This ritual is an important part of Lao people’s life and offers a memorable experience and great snapshots. Your guide will explain how to follow the strict customs and rules involved. After the ceremony you will visit fresh local market. Return to your hotel for breakfast.

Visit of the Royal Palace Museum housing the most important treasures of Laos’ recent past, continue to Vat Xieng Thong at the tip of the peninsula. The oldest and most beautiful temple of the UNESCO World heritage town dates back from the 16th century. The roof sweep low to the ground and glass colored panels adorn the walls of the chapels; see the residential neighborhoods of the peninsular. The last visit will be at Wat Mai.

Lunch at Couleur café restaurant.

Excursion by car to Kuangsi waterfall 32 km to the west of Luang Prabang. Short walk through the forest to the waterfall. After enjoying the scenery, take a swim in one of the nearby clear pools. Visit the Asian bear sanctuary.

Transfer to the airport for your departure flight to Vientiane 1835-1920 (Time subject to change without prior notice). Upon arrival transfer to your hotel for check in.

Day 4
Vientiane – City Tour (B/L/D)

Proceeds to Vat Sisaket, the oldest monastery in Vientiane, built in 1818. Continue to nearby Ho Phrakeo, the former Royal temple, now a Museum of buddhist art and sculpture (closed until end of 2015, alternative: Lao weaving and textile museum). Visit Talat Sao, the morning market, to buy Lao textiles and basketry as souvenirs

Afternoon proceeds to That Luang with its golden stupa in the characteristic banana flower shape it is the most revered shrine in Laos. Stop at Patouxay (the Victory Monument) for a view of the city. Proceed to That Dam Stupa and walk to the Nam Phou Square marking the centre of town. Be sure to explore the streets leading to the Mekong and take a walk on the riverbank in the late afternoon.

Dinner at Makphet Restaurant, which is run by an NGO helping disadvantaged youth.

Day 5
Vientiane – Pakse – Champasak – Don Khone (B/L/D)

Early transfer in the morning to airport for check in and departure by flight to Pakse.

Upon arrive in Pakse, transfer to a local restaurant for a local coffee at the Sinouk Cafe before transfer to local pier to embark on a traditional boat for a 2 hours cruise to Champassack. Continue by car to visit Vat Phou, the ruin Khmer temple from 8-11th century and local museum.

Continue by road to Don Khone.

Day 6
Don Khone – 4000 Islands – Pakse (B/L/D)

Breakfast at your lodge

This morning drive to the mighty Khonphapeng Waterfalls at the southern tip of Laos. Continue to the port for a ferry boat to Don Khone and Don Det. Cross the French railway bridge linking Don Khone and Don Det and see the old locomotive. Walk to the beautiful Liphi Waterfalls.

At the end of the day, transfer back to Pakse.

Day 7
Pakse – Bolaven – Pakse (B/L/D)

Drive to the Bolaven Plateau, a unique elevated region in Laos, where tea and the famous Café Lao are grown. Stop at a plantation and continue to the spectacular Tad Fane Falls located in pristine jungle. Visit Tad Phasuam and Tad Yeuang Waterfalls. Stop in Local village to discover the Lunch at Sinouk Coffee plantation.Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
