Charter private luxury boat for private journeys
When roads, bridges and railroad tracks are lacking, boats form often the only way to get from A to B.
The Mekong River and all its distributary channels in Laos form perfect aquatic motor- and highways for a nation that derives many of its natural resources from the Mighty Mekong. Families living along these riverbanks mostly own one small, non-motorized boat, used primarily for fishing, visiting larger towns. Once sailing over these waterways, visitors to this land-locked country will definitely see these paddling locals going on with their daily lives. All this is now even better accessible with the imminent launch of ‘Play’ – a 42-metre Luang Prabang-based vessel for small groups and those looking for a more intimate encounter with the Mekong and its slow-ife atmosphere.
Day 1
Luang Prabang – Mekong River (-/-/-)
An early morning departure from your hotel to the main boat ferry in Luang Prabang is included for booking the ‘Play’ – one of the latest vessels that makes it upmarket foray onto the Mekong River. The Play can be booked for both half a day or for a complete day on the Mekong and is one of the true lounge boats available.
The Play is a 42-meter vessel that is the ideal venue for some great times on the water. Capable to comfortably accommodate 15 guests, the captain and his crew are well trained in safely navigating the waters of the Mekong River as well provide the care and attention while you are onboard. As your day comes to an end, so ends another working day of local fishermen, sourcing the freshest catch-of-the-day from the river waters.
