Shades of Africa
This safari offers a wonderful combination of mountain scenery, lake birds and plains dotted with game. En route you will see thorn trees: flat-topped, umbrella trees, traditionally where travellers would post messages for each other.
The Shades of Africa safari offers great value and can be combined easily with a few days on the beach. Children aged 7 and below are not permitted on this safari.

Day 1
Arrive Nairobi
You will be met by our representative on arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transferred to your lodge. Meals at your own expense.
Overnight stay in a lodge in Nairobi on twin sharing basis.
Day 2
Nairobi / Aberdares (L/D)
This morning leave for the Outspan Hotel (111 miles) for lunch. Thereafter transfer to Treetops where game can be viewed from the many balconies overlooking the waterhole. (Please limit your luggage to an overnight bag, the remainder can be stored at Outspan. Bathroom facilities are shared). Dinner and overnight at Treetops.
Day 3
Aberdares / Lake Nakuru/ Lake Naivasha (B/L/D)
Early in the morning transfer to Outspan Hotel for breakfast. After collecting left luggage drive into the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for lunch (111 miles). Afternoon game-drive. Thereafter, drive to Lake Naivasha Simba Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4
Lake Naivasha / Masai Mara (B/L/D)
After an early breakfast drive to the world famous Masai Mara Game Reserve (155 miles) arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. Enjoy a late afternoon game-drive in one of the world’s finest game reserves.
Dinner and overnight at the Mara Simba Lodge.
Day 5
Masai Mara (B/L/D)
An early morning balloon safari over the Mara followed by a bubbly bush breakfast (optional extra) or take an early morning game-drive followed by breakfast at the lodge. Rest of the morning at leisure at the lodge. After lunch proceed on a late afternoon game-drive.
Dinner and overnight at the Mara Simba Lodge.
Day 6
Masai Mara / Departure or Extension (B)
Return to Nairobi (186 miles) for departure or proceed with your chosen beach extension.
