Yourantai signifies “a terrace of serenity” in Chinese. The name is inspired by the life and philosophy of an ancient poet, Su Dongpo, from Song Dynasty (1037-1101).

The rolling mountains are sculptured with tightly packed terraces on the precipitous slopes, extending for hundreds of miles. Songtsam Lodge Tacheng is located among QIBIE village and HADA village while those two villages sit on a bench terrace on the northern bank of the LAPU river’s valley. This area, richly endowed by nature, is a famous land of plenty in the northwest of Yunnan province. What’s more, this area, with abundant products, is rich in fruits and vegetables all year round. Natural conditions make Tacheng a more natural and seasonal diet. Specifically, meals of Songtsam Lodge Tacheng are cooked by local chefs, while all food ingredients are planted in the lodge’s vegetable garden or surrounding villages. In general, Songtsam Lodge Tacheng’s meals are healthy home-made style which maximizes the original flavor of ingredients.

Songtsam Lodge Shangri-la is located in XIAOJIEZI village, a Tibetan village near Songzanlin Monastery. The altitude here is 3280 meters. The land is flat, and the views are idyllic. Villagers grow barley, buckwheat, potatoes, turnips, etc. They mainly eat high-calorie-meat and cereals such as Tibetan pig, beef and mutton, Zanba, buckwheat cookies and buttered tea. Tricholoma matsutake and various wild mushrooms grow in the surrounding mountains and forests during the rainy season, which also adds a lot to the meal. By making new tastes with traditional ingredients, dishes are based on improved Tibetan meals here.

A new addition at Fig Tree Camp are the Ngaboli tents, 10 presidential tents built on a private wing of the camp.

Services at Fig Tree Camp include game drives and night safaris, game walks, bush black tie dinners and champagne breakfasts on the planes of the Masai Mara. Also based at Fig Tree Camp is Adventures Aloft balloon safaris which flies daily from the camp.

Kilima Camp is located in the area of Amboseli National Park. The camp is set out on a 360 acre site with a spectacular view of Mount Kilimanjaro. The Kimana area of Amboseli is famous for it’s large elephant population. Clients can enjoy great game viewing from their tents which face the animal water pools and all public areas and guest rooms are set towards Mount Kilimanjaro.

The Camp has 50 Classic Safari Tents each with a double and single bed and large private balcony and 10 Superior Safari tents with four poster double beds with enlarged bathrooms with lion claw bath tubs.
