Ku Chawe is a landmark hotel positioned to enjoy the commanding views across Mount Mulanje in the South and down to the old colonial Capital of Zomba below.
Activities and places of interest are in plenty around Zomba including the Zomba markets, the well tended Botanical gardens, the Commonwealth War Graves memorial, the old Parliament, as well as taking in the sights of the many distinctive colonial buildings. There are several walking trails, and maps are available from the hotel. The Potato trail is a one hour trail from the hotel down to town. There is also a hike to Nawimbe Peak (one hour) which affords magnificent views and panoramas. The trek to Williams Falls is about 2 hours, and along the way you will see a plethora of flora such as lilies, aloes, gladioli and the ancient cycads and fern trees. Mulunguzi dam is situated near by and is a great area for bird watching.
All rooms offer en-suite facilities, satellite television and telephones. The rooms also have comforting log fires for those chillier evenings on the plateau.
